Speakers will include the <strong>Minister for Universities and Research, Gaetano Manfredi, the President of the Campania Regional Council, Vincenzo De Luca, and the Regional Councillor for Education, Social Policies and Youth Policies, Lucia Fortini.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During the three days in Naples &#8211; explains the <strong>ENS National President Giuseppe Petrucci<\/strong> &#8211; we will try to bring out all the facets of the deaf community, the multidimensionality of deafness and the need to adopt an integrated approach. Because true inclusion &#8211; concludes Petrucci &#8211; does not come from prejudices or antagonisms, but from promoting a new culture on disability and from putting at the centre of everything the person in his uniqueness and globality&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>During the Conference, innovative scientific issues will be proposed and debated, as well as others on which it is important to focus attention and provide adequate updates. For example, screening, diagnosis, prevention, sign language, bilingualism, rehabilitation prospects for deaf children, genetic research on deafness, assistive technologies, interventions and aids, such as cochlear implants, implantable prostheses and hearing aids, which have now become true mini-ear computers. The programme is aimed at doctors and technicians in the multidisciplinary field (ENT specialists, audiologists, paediatricians, forensic doctors, psychologists, general practitioners, audiometric technicians, hearing aid specialists, speech therapists), deaf people, their families and professionals, to identify needs and solutions and to launch social and health support initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference was promoted by the Campania Region in the framework of the POR Campania FSE 2014-2020.
