A relay race for Europe – Final event. Benevento, San Vittorino complex
To encourage the sharing and enhancement of Europe’s cultural heritage, to raise awareness of its history and common values, to strengthen the sense of belonging to Europe with particular reference to the role of the younger generations.
This is the aim of the initiative promoted by the Campania Region in the framework of the programme “A relay race for Europe”, which had its final day in Benevento with the awarding of prizes to the associations in Campania that have committed themselves to promoting the knowledge of the European Union and its values.
It wasn’t easy to get different associations to work together, even though they share a common European awareness, but the result was excellent,” said Serena Angioli, Regional Councillor for European Funds, Youth Policy, European Cooperation and the Euro-Mediterranean Basin. “We chose Benevento as the venue for the final initiative because the Region is looking to the inland provinces to raise awareness among all the citizens of Campania of the issues that are closest to our hearts. In the splendid monumental complex of San Vittorino, home of the State Conservatory of Music of the Samnite capital, the fifteen associations that have joined the programme “A relay race for Europe” presented a full programme of events, workshops, performances and laboratories focused on the themes of Europe and the enhancement of its cultural heritage.
